How do I stop videos from playing automatically in my News Feed on Facebook?

While browsing Facebook on mobile or web, if you come across a video content sometimes it plays automatically. By default this setting is on and it is very annoying also. To stop video from playing automatically, you must change your video autoplay settings as given below -

On Web

  1. From the top right of Facebook, click and select Settings.
  2. Click Videos in the left menu.
  3. Click the dropdown menu next to Auto-Play Videos and select Off.

On iPhone/iOS

  1. Tap on the tripple bar in the bottom right
  2. Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy > Settings.
  3. Scroll down to Media and Contacts and tap Videos and Photos.
  4. Tap Autoplay, then select from the following options:
    1. On Mobile Data and Wi-Fi Connections.
    2. On Wi-Fi Connections Only.
    3. Never Autoplay Videos.

On Android

  1. Tap on the tripple bar in the top right.
  2. Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy > Settings.
  3. Scroll down to Media and Contacts.
  4. Tap Autoplay, then select from the following options:
    1. On Mobile Data and Wi-Fi Connections.
    2. On Wi-Fi Connections Only.
    3. Never Autoplay Videos.
